This portrait we see in the collage was taken in the 4th my birthday. The same year, the biggest drug lord that has existed in Colombia was killed, giving place to a new and different kind of mafia. This collage was composed using press photographs of the Colombian conflict between 1989 and 1993. The motivation to do this collage started out of the question about the necessity and implications about being born and raised surrounded and bombarded constantly by images of violence. Therefore, the work exposes the condition of being a child surrounded by violent images in the media without having a direct contact with violence.
